Our Holiday Stars Program was started over 60 years ago. These simple wood-frame holiday stars gave rise to our nickname "City of Stars."

    The Chamber, since its inception in 1944, has been active in enabling the Stars to be given out free of charge to both businesses and residents. Bill Del Chiaro Sr (Brisbane Hardware) initially made the simple wooden stars and passed the baton to our late Director Emeritus Frank Walch, who then passed it to Skipper Bob Wilson, an active chamber member. The Brisbane Holiday Stars Program is the oldest Chamber program. The tradition continues today with the oversight of the Chamber — Sierra Point Lumber Company donates the lumber, Brisbane Hardware donates the hardware, and Sea Scout Ship 134, Skipper Bob Wilson and Sea Scout teenagers assemble the stars.
